Pupils pitch for ambitious project funding at City Hall

7 December 2017 (by admin)

Pupils from Woodpecker make a fantastic case to secure funding for the school for a new gardening initiative with big ambitions.

The team had to try to convince a special panel with the power to make awards. They did a superb job with a very well researched and intelligently argued brief. If successful, the cash will buy a range of equipment, including wheelbarrows, rakes, compost, planters and gloves. It will also secure thousands of vegetable and fruit seeds, strawberry and rhubarb plants. Taking it to the next level, Year 5 and 6 will then set up a social enterprise group to sell the produce to parents and the community. There are even plan to publish Summer and winter Recipe books. Fingers crossed the news is good!
